v10 Centauro drive box

Postby michael_68a » Sat Nov 12, 2011 8:39 am

I have an oil leak on my V10 Centauro, from the rear axle from the drive box side of the bike, I have the new seal and have taken the wheel off, but cannot get the drive box off the short shaft that it sits on, the manual I have does not cover the removal of the drive box, only how to dismantle it on the workbench... does anybody know how to get the drive box off the swing arm?

Just unbolt all attachment points and loosen the clamping bolt on the rear u-joint to slide it off the shaft. Be careful and mark the alinement of the shaft as it is a two piece unit and you want the U-joints at 90 degrees to each other for proper operation.

I have now taken the drive shaft off the rear drive box and I still can't get the drive off the small shaft it is sitting on... do I have to dismantel the box by taking off the crown unit cover to get it off the shaft? The reason I am asking is I don't have the gaskets for the cover, so I will have to order them.
