Griso Head GasketsWhen I took my 06 Griso in for his 1st service, way back when,I asked if the heads had been retorqued,as per owners book,I was told "No theyve got steel ones and dont need it,we rung the importer and checked. This was in country New South Wales Australia. However I was told the other day by the reliable source that the early ones had Klingerite ones, identifiable by the abscence of "ears" at 1 and 7 oclock. Consequently my bikes heads have not been nipped up.Should they be left alone (76000 kms) or what is the go?
Re: Griso Head GasketsThere was a bit of confusion about this early on.Theoretically the kingerlite ones should be re-torqued but they tended to be over-torqued from the factory. I never re-torqued my heads on my 1100 and never had any problems.
If you do decide to re torque there is a different proceedure to the earlier machines and you need a RTG. Pete
Re: Griso Head GasketsWhat's a RTG ?

Re: Griso Head GasketsI have one of these and they are good. I also have this "over-the-top" SnapOn digital torque wrench that has a degree feature too. $$$$$$$
Re: Griso Head GasketsI would think after 76,000klm if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
I'd rather ride a slow bike fast, than a fast bike slow. But the older I get the faster I was.
