flashing fuel light

Postby Roblatt » Sun Jan 15, 2012 2:34 pm

Went for a blat yesterday up through the twin Spur's (for those of you in Victoria) . The bike ran like a dream all day.

However, when I went to fill up in the morning, instead of the fuel gauge going to 3/4 full and then finally to full after a few km's, it went to empty and the low fuel warning light began to flash continuously. This went on for 5 km then resumed normal operation at the full mark.

I took it as just a quirk but I thought I'd better ask the question incase there is more to it. My bike is a 2006 Breva 1100 which I've owned since new.

cheers

Robert

QUIRKINESS, my Ford will do the same thing and it's not even Italian.

If it happens often or every fill up, I'd go searching for loose connections, bad earths etc.
I'd rather ride a slow bike fast, than a fast bike slow. But the older I get the faster I was.

The biggest quirk sits on the seat.

I'm only going for the day now as something has come up, so I'll catch up at the track.
