So, as some of you may have seen in the griso tech forum, i am having an issue with my g11.
Yesterday, it got much worse. after a long commute, it started squealing, loudly. IT would start and stop abruptly, but it was extremely loud. I do not smell clutch, and while the whine was only while under load, the squealing, once it started, wouldn't stop until i downshifted into first. The pitch of the whine varies not by speed, so much as load. (IE if i put it into a higher gear at lower speed and crack the throttle open, the whine goes up in pitch even though the speed doesnt change much). The hotter it is, the worse it gets. The longer i ride it, the worse it gets. When the bike is cold, everything seems fine.
So its obvious i need to take things apart (might as well replace the clutch while i am at it) but I have never cracked into this before, and im not exactly sure what the problem is, or what i should be looking for.
So i propose to you- Are there any southwest guys around here who i can bribe with pizza and beer (or something else?) and have worked on their drivetrains before to help me figure out what on earth is wrong, and fix it?
Taking this bike to a dealer is not an option. Some of you may remember why.
I have all the necessary tools (including an engine hoist) to do the job.
Cheers everyone,
-Andrew
