Hwy 33 run 9/24 or 25?

Postby jamileh » Sun Sep 18, 2011 7:40 pm

I'm riding down to Chatsworth Sat 9/24 and riding home Sunday. Anyone up for riding 33 either up or down? My preference would be riding it north on Sunday, leaving SFV around noon or so. Bob? Dave G (or do I have to travel thousands of miles to visit with you, Dave?), anyone else? Coming down on Sat, may do a canyon ride - Bouquet, Elizabeth, Lake Hughes, if anyone one wants to meet up for that....
Take care, all.

Can't do 33 Sunday (gotta pick wife up at LAX in the afternoon), but my arm could be easily twisted to do a Saturday meetup & run on the above-mentioned roads. Lemme know if/when you'll be in that vicinity.

Mike, would you rather do some canyons east of 5 or cerronoestre and 33 on Saturday? I'm basically hoping to do one on the way down and the other on the way back; doesn't,t matter which I do which day....

Jam, either one's fine with me. IOW, it'll be fun just riding with you! All that I ask is for enough lead time in order to meet you; I'm guessing that Pasadena to the north end of Cerro will take me 2½ hours (??) and Pasadena to the north end of whatever canyon roads would take 1½ (? again).

I mentioned this to Rich yesterday, but don't know whether he'll be able to do it, as he works swing shift. Surprised you haven't heard from Bob...

Anyway, let's get your preferences known, then we'll go from that point!

EDIT: Sending you a PM with my new cell number

Right now I'm free both days, so pick your poison, I like all the options, esp cerro noestre/33. Right now calling for 30% chance of thunderstorms Frazier Park on Sat, but its early, things could well change as it gets closer. There's been so little action on this part of this site of late (mostly me & Mike) that I just don't look as often, so J or Mike, if you want to reach me close to weekend, might be better to call. I'll try to keep a closer eye on things here near term.

Sounds like a fun ride. Unfortunately I'll be at Willow Springs photographing the Streetmasters Motorcycle Course all day Saturday. That and the Norge is still laid up with the tweaked shock mount, so I'm riding Ruby, the '88 Concours.

Have fun - maybe see you next time.

Mike, just replied to your pm, and Bob, an update. My pop,s in the hospital in van nuts in a bad way, and I banzaied down last night in the car. Aortic aneurysm. The next few days are pretty critical. I may go back to Visalia on friday for something and if I do, I'll come back down on the moto. I'll need a therapy ride more than ever, just unsure now of when. Day-to-day thing right now.... Maybe even just a cup of coffee (or macallan) at some point. Let,s talk. Would love to see u guys no matter what.....
