NorCal MGNOC Rally

Postby tomsp » Mon Oct 03, 2011 10:10 am

Oct 1 - rode from Stockton to Bodega Bay for the MGNOC NorCal Rally - arrived Friday evening at about 6 pm - no rain yet. Had a couple of hot dogs with the group, pitched the tent, good talk with all and slept. Saturday saw a 120 mile ride from Bodega Bay to Pt Arena and back - about half of which was in the rain. I forgot my liner for my mesh pants so me and most of the group were soaked. About half way my Stelvio's speedo went out - dash was ok except for reading zero MPH. My plug caps were acting up again too (this time I will replace with my "shelved" NGK caps sitting in my kitchen. Otherwise the Stelvio handled great - traction was superb. My right aluminum bag leaked too - soaking my extra gloves and phone charger, among other things. Back in Bodega the speed sensor dried out and all was fine. Need to add silicone. The group was terrific - Don van Zandt puts on one good event . Hoping the others will chime in and supply names - Mike Stewart, Willy, Raphael, ...! ok I'm really bad with names !- Let's see - riders came from Portland, Or; Bend, Or; Kenniwick, WA; Sacramento, and various SF Bay Area locals -- here are a couple of shots.. The last pic is of my screen showing the results of a water soaked speed sensor  I was in a hurry to get home on Sunday...but not that much in a hurry
