Re: More on the Cali ProtoBeauty is in the "behind" of the holder.
Looks too much like a Bonneville America to me. I'd rather ride a slow bike fast, than a fast bike slow. But the older I get the faster I was.

Re: More on the Cali ProtoFirst time I saw a pic of this prototype a Soviet car came to mind - must be the heads taking a bite out of the tank. A brutal 'make it work' order from the top. The rear drive looks like its off a BMW, now that I take a second look seems the engine case is the only common guzzi part. Guess things gotta change, I just got used to the tonti calis, only took me 15 years. The bars don't look like they come far back enough considering where the foot controls are. But I'll take it for a ride when the day comes.

Re: More on the Cali ProtoIf I came across one in a dark alley with the key in it, I'd just take the speedo.

Re: More on the Cali ProtoSo, all these comments about bad taste indicate it's ideal for the cruiser crowd and should do well. But I admit that I've never met a Cali I didn't not like, I reckon if you want a Harley then buy one.
But, it's a prototype and good on Guzzi for putting it out there. Prototypes are meant to generate interest and they've done it. Keep throwing stones in the pond, Guzz! So there. Peter p.s. I'm happy the Guzzi cruisers gave Guzzi a foothold in the US and kept them viable, always happy to see any Guzzi badge and always happy to let people ride what they like, even if it's looks like a motorised barber's chair Last edited by Series4 on Sat Feb 04, 2012 2:31 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Re: More on the Cali ProtoI rode the CAII, CAIII, and two EVs (the 1998 and a 2003) along with several other Guzzi models. I wouldn't put any of my money into one of these. As Series4 said, it may attract some of the Harley crowd or want to bees, but not me.
