PC-V info for the Bellagio

Postby andrej » Tue Jun 29, 2010 3:02 am

The Bellagio has the 15RC ECU that you seem to be supporting. Is its unavailability in the US the only reason for not supporting the Bellagio or is there any other reason for that ?

Not that I think that the factory mapping on the Bella is not good but it would be good to have the ability to tweak the mapping when changing some components (filter, exhausts etc).

I can also now support the 15RC (which includes the Bellagio of course), and I'd be happy to re-flash the ECU to accommodate. E-mail to follow.

Would there be any visible gain from using it ? Is it possible to make a good map for a bike that you do not have access to ?

Did you ever get a chance to try it on and dyno it for a bit ? I really like the idea of having a fully controllable ECU but I do not really like to experiment with my brand new bike that much.

Another thing. Does fitting mods like this have anything to do with the warranty ?

A bit more grunt maybe and smooth fueling is what you should see.
These mods can be undone easily enough as I understand it so should not be any warranty problems.
My stock bella runs beautifully after proper set-up, especially the TPS... YMMV.
The PC-V will give you real flexibility especially if you mess with the fueling for instance changing the pipes..

Seems to me it does. When you have trouble with your bike and the ecu is modified, that will be the first thing they'll tell you. . .
Buy an other ecu (from Todd or Ebay) and you can put your stock ecu back when necessary.

Before you order ECU's etc, remove your tank and double check your ECU for a sticker with details. I was under the impresion that we were looking at a 15RC ECU on my Bellagio...... because that is what is mentioned in specs that appear on many sites on the net. In fact, spare parts manual and the sticker on my ECU say it's a 5AM ECU! Can't always trust the net it seems!

Now maybe both numbers apply to the one beast or possibly both types have been used in the course of production....just check it first and save an expensive mistake.

I now have access to a Bellagio map that was built in Italy for any one interested... this is for a 5AM ECU indeed, not the 15RC as posted above.

Is it a new factory supplied one or a completely custom one ?

Is there any easy way to find out which ecu is in my bike other than taking the tank off and reading the label ?

Does any Bellagio have the 15RC or do they all have the 5AM confirming that the 15RC information is just another wrong spec (like tubed/tubeless tires) ?

Are all the 5AM ecu`s compatible when flashed properly ? I mean can you take a 5AM from some bike other than Bellagio, flash it with the Bellagio map then put it into bellagio ?

If the 15RC ecu really exists is it compatible with bikes that were originally fitted with 5AM ?
