Postby GT-Rx » Thu Dec 30, 2010 6:34 pm

A GT Exclusive; Tried a FatDuc? This is one done right.

This will be combined with a PC-V ONLY starting Sept. 1, 2011.

PURCHASE INFO HERE

The PC-V/02-OPT is available for the 15RC (Breva/Nevada 750, V7C, Cal Vin, etc.) or the newer 5AM (All new CARC Guzzi). 2011+ models with two 02-sensors/lambdas, will require two (2) 02-optimizers FOR NON-PUBLIC ROAD USE ONLY.

Good work Todd,

What is the difference (what is done right) between this unit and the FatDuc?
Regards,

Tony

I'm assuming this will make the circuit run richer like the fat duc does.
Will my check engine light come on, like it does with the fat duc?
More details, please.

Todd

A little more info please. Does it compensate for ambient air temperature , etc ?

The optimizer uses a (well tested) powered circuit board vs. a simple variable resistor. It does NOT illuminate the F.I. light as the FatDuc, because (as witnessed on the dyno) the FatDuc put the AFR in off the scale rich conditions within 30 seconds in closed-open-closed loop conditions.
Dan, all of the compensation still relies solely on the ECU still. Only my full fueling kit is fully adaptive (as you know already).

Ok, Todd I am in for 1, I will try it on my V7 Classic and I never got a response back about the V11 Sport ECU for the Cal Vin, I have a brand new 15RC ecu if we can work out some sort of swap for the V11 ECU. I am not looking for getting it for nothing BTW. So how do I order the new module ?

What would be the benefit of this for someone installing a PC-V?

Hmmm, I sent you a reply. I'll do so again now. For anyone else interested, please send me direct e-mail to order; Todd at GuzziTech.com

John, with just a PC on the stock 15RC or 5AM ECU, one is not able to revise the fueling below 40% throttle at ALL RPMs. The Optimizer dynamically revises fueling below 40% throttle.
Unlike my full fueling kit (ECU/PC-V/AutoTune) that provides dynamic revisions to 100% of ALL fueling at ALL throttle positions.

I only have ~6 (total) custom PC-V's left for either the 15RC or 5AM Guzzi.

Perhaps you've got the Fatduc dialed to high. Try just getting just "a touch" of correction. I've got a different DIY version (no resistor) and I'm not getting any engine light.

Got my optimizer today and installed it on the V7 Classic, took all of 10 minutes, Seems to have eliminated what little popping I had because of the Mistral cans. Bike seems a tad more responsive I give it a thumbs up !

So how if I wanted to go "off road " is the A/F mixture adjustable ? I assume the screws in the black box have to be removed and then what ?

Still waiting on the response for the V11 Sport ECU.
