Hello ALL;
So I only have 270 miles on my new 2012 Norge, but so far I see no need to remove the EPA canister. The bike throttles up and down smoothly with no notches or hesitations.
Thoughts????? Experiences????

Re: New 2012 Norge... No EPA Canister removal requirementI believe Pete Roper has a theory about the air bleed orifices getting gummed up with our wonderful Ethanol gas, But I have got to say my 07 Norge was subject to the erratic idle and corrected by Todd's stepper motor bypass fix, but my 2011 Griso 8V so far has yet to exhibit the same condition, perhaps a change was made ? Throttle bodies are different then the 2V motors.

Re: New 2012 Norge... No EPA Canister removal requirementHello;
draidt: That was my experience with both my 06 Griso and my 08 Norge... They both required canister-ectimies to fix idle problems and smoothness of throttle. BUT the 12 Norge has NO symptoms of what the 08 had. When I was at GMG 85 and rode the brand new Norge just released, it was the EU configuration and had None of the throttle problems... When they got to this side of the Atlantic, and Guzzi was forced to add the canister, there were BIG problems.. As soon as I pulled the canister and re-plummed the bike for the EU configuration it all settled down. Seems they have made substantial progress in understanding the impact of the canister and have done something to compensate.. Fuel Mop? I can't say. Smarter folks than me, i.e. Pete or Todd probably know. All I know its good and bad news.. Good news, in that I don't have to re-plum the bike. Bad news in that I was using the spot the canister was in for an auxiliary fuse block... Now I have to find a new place.... BUT that is a small price to pay for the improved fueling and throttle control..... I hope it stays this way as it gets broken in. Sam Baker
